The most substantial local event of the year has already come and gone. At the carnival this year there were a few more rides and attractions including pig races, super bingo and a caveman costume competition. Julia and I saw several of our students with their families and of course supported local school fundraisers and sports teams by eating katsu and teri chicken plates with hot brown-bagged malasadas for desert. My highlight was getting stopped and photographed thanks to the powers of my TWM t-shirt. Looking forward to next year when we might even try out the ferris wheel.
